ARES DRAMAFESTEE
i am feeling really happy right now cos i had a really fulfilling and fun experience of..... DRAMAFESTE!
ahh where to start. at the very beginning, i went for the auditions with mx, thinking it was only for fun. THEN, i got in - that was when the real fun began. i met my fellow dramafeste peoples and found out that they are all super duper cool :D! so friendly, so nice. and we played the "boyle's law of molecules in a trapped container" game! basically in an enclosed space, we had to move around in a constant, random motion at varying speeds (according to the level yingci calls) for 40 min non-stop.. ah and after that, the real work began. we spent weeks memorising scripts, creating chemistry with fellow cast and crew, investing time and energy (hard work) in creating the set (kudos to the cool crew people!), and staying till v v late at night..
[*sighs, looks 45 degrees upwards and to the left, showing a slight grin on the face, freeze]
[unfreeze].
and as we approached the 2 big nights, the tension and nervousness naturally increased, but strangely enough, we felt confident of showing everyone what the ARES spirit was!! (whoo!) and finally, after putting on the performance on thurs and fri, im quite sure that everyone felt so relieved, so fulfilled, so happy of how much we improved..
it was just... Perfect (pun intended).
[paces around slowly, head 30 degrees downwards straight, grin still on face]
[abruptly comes to a halt, turns to face audience]
gahhahaha, really an experience that i will never forget :D. and i would not have been to get such an experience, if not for these awesome people:
1. mx - for asking me to go for auditions and coming on friday night!
2. yingci - for letting me pass auditions and supporting me all the way!
3. nicholas+sister - for writing a fantastic script and being so patient & motivating!
4. natalee, eehsien, huiyao - for being awesome fellow castzszsxszcxs!
5. all crew members - for making an amazing set and coordinating everything flawlessly!
6. all the seniors - for always guiding and jiayou-ing us all the time!
7. teachers - for being so cool and understanding during this time!
8. everyone who came to watch dramafeste - for being a lovely audience!
9. everyone who supported us in any way - for supporting us!
10. all the judges - for giving us the 'best script award' and 'best set award'!
11. huangcheng people - for being really understanding and nice during this period!
[pauses. looks around audience. takes a deep bow. scene freezes.]
[at the same time, clock ticks in the background and catches the attention of the audience]
[DING DONG DING DONG, DONG DING DONG DING. tempo has reached critical level... tempo has reached critical level.... (whisper) five, six, seven, eight...]
Ah, this is the time when the entire audience stands up and dances energetically and happily. then huiyao starts speaking in his pinoy accent and everyone laughs until their stomach explode.
Ah but seriously, ares dramafeste was really damn cool! :))))))))
